This is 150g of mango moon viscose; I received it in the Knitters Treasure Swap. It is kind of stiff but I love the blend. I have never ever knit with Viscose and I dont even know where it comes from. Please educate me. I was thinking of a money bag. My  family has a habit of saving up coins and then cashing them in. The yarn is too stiff for gloves or socks. I would like suggestions. Thanks in advance.

i learned the kitchener stitch today. so now i know how to knit, purl, kitchener, cast on , cast off. i own a couple sets of straights, 2 bamboo and 2 metal; and one boye interchangeable set. I really want to follow a ravelers suggestion and get a gunsmith to combine my boye needles with knit picks cables (unless someone convinces me that addi turbo interchangeables would be better than this.)

i have made one full sweater in my life. got another going. learned 2 at a time socks pretty quickly. so much fun! I used to think of myself as a strict pattern follower. now i feel like maybe i can create something on my own. i have heard elizabeth zimmerman’s books are great; i own none. my question now is which of her books should i buy first? my goal is to be able to say oohhh i want to make a sweater (or socks) like this and then create such without following a pattern per se.

am i learning backwards? learning to follow patterns before creation? or do others create first and then make patterns from what they create ( like several designers i have heard and read about on ravelry) ?

I did these with magic loop.
I should be studying.
But now i am working on my second pair of socks like these in a great chocolate brown, blue, and white blended OPAL yarn. I even did the 3-1 cast on method by ravelry’s TECHKNITTER. it worked!

i have blue cotton stash. great for a gift card cozy. those arent cheap you know. problem is it was in crochet. i had never crocheted till last night. wow. in one night, i learned how to “cast on” crochet, sc stitch, and finish my project with a tapestry needle. sewed a snap on and volia i have a gift for my swap partner!

4 weeks ago i discovered ravelry. then i started a blog and learned a photosharing service ( flickr). now i am buying PC magazines to build “my computer of tomorrow”. photoblogging. all in 4 weeks. wow! not to mention i hand dyed yarn for the first time.

I used KNITTY.com method for dying with koolaid; stovetop method. Prewashed with a little sink soap; did not post wash. I had 100 g of yarn; added 6 packets of orange koolaid. I added yarn to water then put the dye in. I should have put the dye in the water and stirred before adding yarn. I know, I know..but does it look variegated? It actually looks like a combo of aztec gold and burnt orange. makes me want to do the black cherry color now. I have never tried any other dye method. what do you think of this?
